Chinese mobile manufacturer Oppo is to enter the Indian mobile market with the launch of Smartphone carrying trademark rotatable camera. The launch apparently is to happen today. The model called N1 was originally debuted in its parent country on 24 September, last year. Oppo has followed suit with its competitors from the home nation like Lenovo, Huawei and Gionee in exploring the neighboring country, India for business.
The much talked about 13MP camera can turn upto 206 degrees. It can be fixed at any given angle which makes it an exciting prospect for clicking selfies, or the photos at different angles which were unconceivable previously. Interestingly, rotating the camera hinge also activates the camera. The camera has an aperture of f/2.0 and has 6 lenses. The CMOS sensor camera (from Sony) can perform geo-tagging and it has touch focus, face detection, panorama and High-dynamic -range (HDR) facilities as well. The 5.9-inch full HD display has a dual LED flash too. Fujitsu IPS imaging chip and Adreno 320 GPU are also adding to the quality.
The phablet has quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM. Some of the gesture control features can be attributed to Color OS based on Android Jelly Bean 4.2. Internal memory is available in 2 sizes namely 16GB and 32GB. However, we are not sure if both the variants make it to India. It has a 2GB RAM which ensures quick functioning. The 650 mAh battery capacity ensures that there is enough juice to provide long usage time. The chassis Is 170.7 x 82.6 x 9 millimeters and the device weighs 213 grams. To access the web, it supports quadband GSM, pentaband HSPA+, Wi-Fi among others. The GPRS enabled phone also has Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0 slot to enhance connectivity.
The area under the camera is touch sensitive area named ‘O touch’. Courtesy this feature, you can handle the gadget in a single hand. ‘O click’ being a blue tooth accessory attachable to a keyring, provides for remote clicking and can raise an alarm if the Smartphone goes missing.
It can be remembered that the Chinese mobile maker Gionee released Elife E7 for 26,000. Speculations are rife that Oppo N1 would be priced reasonably at 30,000 in view of competition from Micromax, Karbonn which provide lower cost models. Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor are expected to launch the phablet. It is also reported that they have enacted in an Ad to promote the same.
