The flagship Smartphone by Micromax, Canvas 4, got an official launch today in New Delhi and is priced at 17,999. The device was making headlines ever since the company released the teaser on its official YouTube channel.
Though device was up for pre-orders on Micromax’s website for an initial amount of 5,000 and press releases were handed out for today’s launch, the specs of the mobile were tightly wrapped until today.
Meanwhile there were many rumours about the device’s specs, but with today’s launch, some came true and some failed terribly. One of the most rumoured specs the 1080 p screen resolution, also called as Full HD, failed terribly, as the device sports 720 p resolutions only. Adding to the failed rumours list is a high capacitve battery, originated from company’s "Can Life Be Endless?" caption. But like its antecessor, the Canvas HD, it’s just 2000 mAh.
Nevertheless, the device packs punch with some amazing features. The holding frame of the device is anodised aluminium, which gives fine metal look, plus, acts as additional antenna. With “Blow To Unlock” feature, as the name suggests, you can unlock it by just blowing over its screen. “Shoot To Thrill,” the 13MP primary camera, with Sony Sensor and flash can take amazing videos and pics; adding to it, there is a 5MP front camera for finer video chats.
You can take panorama shots from bottom to top. Pin a video to the screen and drag various applications on to it, you can work on apps simultaneously while without missing even a moment of your video. With “Roving Eyes” feature, the video currently playing on your screen pauses whenever your eyes are off the screen and it resumes when you look back at it. “Peekaboo!” is a feature where you can preview other videos without pausing the one you are currently watching. “Swipe to control” helps you to increase or decrease the volume or brightness with just a swipe.
And to add more, just bring the phone to your ears to answer a call or to call a selected contact. Put the phone upside down for silent mode or just flip the phone to put the current call on speakers, the features are simply endless. With “Play Safe,” Micromax will be giving a one year service on its M!Power, by which you can block your SIM card, wipe phone memory clean, take automated data backup, and even get a temporary handset in case of mobile theft.
Micromax Canvas 4 comes with a 5.0-inch HD display at 720x1280 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM and runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. It has 16GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.
Micromax is also offering a new cover worth 3,000 for its flagship phone, which allows the use of the phone even when the screen is covered.
