Amazon Soon To Unveil A 3D Smartphone

Amazon has announced its first 3D Smartphone which will be launched sometime in June this year. The phone is not expected to hit the stores till September and the price remains unknown too reports Wall street journal.

The 3D phone from Amazon renders images on the Smartphone without a user wearing any special glasses for it. The phone has four front facing cameras to track the user’s retinas, adjusting the image to look like a holographic projection on the screen no matter from which angle the user views it. The technology in the phone also monitors the movement of the user if it is far or near to the screen.

Apparently, Amazon has been inviting app and game developers to demonstrate the device’s capabilities under tight security. People used the device have said that it would be ideal for gaming. The OS on which the device runs is yet to be disclosed. The current Amazon devices the Kindle fire tablets and the Fire TV set top box, runs on a Android platform which is customized by Amazon similar to what Nokia did for its Android phones.

It is anticipated that, Amazon is in talks with two display manufacturers which includes the Japan Display, who supply screens for the Apple. The handset would go into mass production later this month and is already having an initial order of 6 lakh units.

According to the BGR leak on Tech advisor, the phone is expected to have a 4.7 inch screen with a HD resolution of 720p and a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 2GB of RAM. On the optics side, it has a 13MP primary camera and not less than 12MP on the secondary.
